Energy source of climate system

It is said that the sun is the ultimate source of energy for the climate system. It is true for the current state when the tectonic seems pretty quiet, but how about other period when the geosphere was more active? Any such period exists? If so, could the geothermal play some roles in the climate system? Is the energy exported by human itself large enough to affect the climate system? Seems not.
